Practical tips to fight cellulite

Any woman can have cellulite. Contrary to popular beliefs, it doesn't only affect people who are overweight: thin and slim women can also have cellulite. However men rarely get it.

There are various factors associated with cellulite, but no single cause. These factors include genetic predisposition, poor circulation and water retention, excess fat, changes to the elasticity, strength and stretching of the skin, as well as hormone changes. Normally, cellulite is caused by more than one of the aforementioned factors.
If you have cellulite, whatever the cause (except for genetic factors) you can try to fight it. To do so, I recommend incorporating these habits into your daily life:
-Avoid too much sugar, fatty foods and alcohol. This type of food causes you to gain body weight and, as a result, can also cause cellulite. I mean foods like table sugar, sugary drinks, sweets, fatty meats, etc.
-Reduce sodium intake (salt) and drink 1.5-2 litres of water each day to avoid retaining liquid. To do so, avoid precooked and tinned foods, too much cheese and bread with salt (it's better to buy whole-wheat, low-salt bread), and adding too much salt to your dishes.
-Make sure to get the following nutrients to improve circulation:
. Vitamin C, from red peppers, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, kiwi, red cabbage, oranges and tomatoes. This vitamin improves blood vessel function. Plus, in addition to. . Vitamin E and the polyphenols in olive oil, which help protect that in the blood from oxidative damage. Vitamin E is also found in hazelnuts, almonds, wheat germ, eggs and oily fish.
. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in walnuts and fish, to help improve heart function.
-Do physical exercise to improve circulation, muscle tone and prevent fat build-up.
-Wear loose clothing and 3-inch heels. Otherwise, tight clothing and super high heels are harmful to circulation and can be another cause of cellulite.
So, now you know: get more nuts, fish and vegetables in your diet. Don't forget to drink loads of water and avoid salt, alcohol and sugary or fatty foods.
See you next time!
