Zero options of fizzy drinks

Zero options of fizzy drinks

Is it true that zero versions of fizzy drinks are as fatty as those that contain sugar?

And if so, why do all dieticians suggest them? It seems that over time they contribute to an increase in diabetes, myocardial infarction and causes weight gain, specifically in the waist.

Hello Elisa,

The caloric intake of soft drinks without sugar is usually 0. However, they can affect weight loss due to imbalances caused by the salts they contain in our internal environment. This would cause fluid retention if consumed daily (this may be what you mean by waist gain).

ANSWER:

If they do not contain sugar, I think they do not intervene in the development of diabetes. Nor do I believe that they directly affect the increased risk of suffering a myocardial infarction (heart attack). However, by consuming them daily we can displace other healthy cardio foods from our diet, such as fruit, which is rich in nutrients that help prevent this type of disease in the long term.

In addition, if they contain gases it can also cause flatulence problems.

Finally, its sweet taste makes our brain continue to need this stimulus. Therefore, although the consumption of caloric sweeteners is safe, that kind of "addiction" to that taste is maintained.

Not all dietitians recommend them. What you can hear from dieticians-nutritionists is that they can be an option to choose at social events instead of sugary sodas or alcoholic beverages. I imagine that no dietitian has recommended you daily consumption.
