Which contains more sugar; beer or wine?

Although our nutritionists don’t recommend alcohol, we know that we all need to socialize and have a drink from time to time.

Many users ask our nutritionists about alcohol and sugar content and what is the best alcoholic beverage to have on a night out. Read what our nutritionists recommend….

Beer is a beverage that we get from malt, 100ml gives us approximately 3 to 3.5g of carbohydrates compared to 1 or 1.5g of carbohydrates in 100 ml of wine. However you shouldn’t base your decision to drink either beer or wine based on the carb and sugar content, as the difference isn’t huge.

Always consume beer or wine and other alcoholic drinks in moderation and be wary of the percentage of alcohol in each. Choose what you like to drink the most, whether it is to compliment the food you’re having or to socialize with friends, but we advise you not to drink beer or wine on a daily basis.
