Preparing your lunch box
How to prepare your lunch box, step by step
INITIAL RECOMMENDATIONS
-
Don’t leave food out of the refrigerator for more than 2 hours
-
If you buy already made food follow the indications on the label
-
Separate cooked products from non-cooked products.
-
If you prepare an omelet, make sure it’s well done
-
Cook the pasta a little raw, so when you re-heat it doesn’t overcook.
STORAGE
Very important, make sure that the container has the following labels:
Suitable for food.
Suitable for microwave use.
-
It is recommended to use thermal bags for transportation, avoiding sudden changes in temperature. But don’t forget to refrigerate it once you get to your work place.
HEATING OR HANDLING
-
Make sure that the cooking temperature is above 70ºC
-
If you heat soups, purées or juices, stir them so you it heats up completely.
-
Add the dressing to your salads just before eating them (you can take a small bottle apart).
-
Stews are good allies, the juices prevent the product from drying out.
-
Fried products are not good allies, as they change their texture when they are reheated. Avoid fried eggs, they’re very fragile and brake very easily.
-
Sandwiches, as long as they are healthy, can be a fantastic option for those days you don’t know what to take with you.
-
If possible bring plates and cutlery with you to work, good appearance always makes the difference.
