Who doesn't love a good cup of tea? Maybe you’re a coffee addict instead but for your morning break or when making a quick pit stop during working hours or at the end of the day, why not try a healthier alternative. Herbal teas can be very beneficial to our health, can sooth a sore throat or sick and bloated tummy and help us to relax. They can also be very yummy! Let’s take a look at some well known infusion teas.

Camomile tea is amazing to help our body relax, very beneficial if you have trouble sleeping. Peppermint is wonderful for excess gas and a bloated tummy. Ginger infusions are perfect if you feel a cold coming on as ginger has anti inflammatory properties to help a sore throat. Fennel tea has been recommended for muscle spasms, it helps to relax the muscles in the stomach and can even relieve hiccups!

However, these teas are well known and very common. If you want to be more adventurous, why not be different and make your own herbal infusion instead! Take a look at our ideas!

  1. For something refreshing, try natural squeezed lemon juice, cinnamon, mint leaves and ginger. This first infusion is ideal to help decongest the airways. In addition, the 'spicy' ginger is great, as we mentioned to heal inflammation and aid a winter cold.

  1. For a sweeter alternative: Mix cinnamon, cloves, star anise, cardamom and cocoa powder. The mixture of anise and cocoa gives this infusion a very characteristic and sweet touch. Ideal to take in the mid afternoon, since its sweet taste is very satiating.

  1. Something to relax: Blend melissa, licorice, cinnamon, cocoa, mint leaves, chamomile and rosemary flowers. This third infusion is ideal for taking at night or after heavy meals.

  1. A tea for comfort: Mix licorice, fennel, orange peel, thyme and turmeric. This fourth infusion has a nice sweet taste and smooth texture, so you can take it at any time of the day.

Try these four recommendations and customize your own teas!  :D
